Maintenance liability and responsibility |
| Local councils are liable and responsible for street
lighting
maintenance. | |
Telford & Wrekin Council is responsible for over
24,000 street lights and manages an additional 1500 for Hadley
& Leegomery and Lilleshall & Donnington Parish
Councils.
The physical maintenance works are carried out for the council by
Prysmian Cables Ltd, who successfully won the tender for the works
in open competition in 2003.
The remaining town and parish councils are
responsible for approximately 1000 street lights in total. These
councils have individual contractual arrangements for maintenance
works.
