| This council, as a Highway Authority, has responsibility
for the maintenance of the highways, including pavements and
footways. | |
Pavements, particularly those constructed of paving
slabs, can suffer very badly from overriding vehicles.
In the case of damage, it is important to report the vehicle
details/findings so that the Council can recover the full cost of
repairs to the pavement.
The organisation carrying out the works (which may include utility
companies) is responsible for ensuring there is a safe alternative
route for pedestrians and other traffic. This organisation is also
responsible for putting the pavement back to its former
condition.
If you have any queries regarding footpaths or pavements or you
wish to report any problems, please
contact us or use the
online report form.
If you would like to report an offender of pavement theft, please
use the online report
form. | |
