Telford Railfreight Terminal

For the past five years, Telford & Wrekin Council have been working with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and English Partnerships to develop a Railfreight Terminal at Donnington, North Telford. This involves the reinstatement of the railway line from Wellington to Donnington, which was closed in 1991 and the track removed in 1993, and the construction of the freight handling and storage facilities.

The Telford Railfreight Project aims to support employment and economic development within Telford and the region with associated environmental benefits.
