Telford International Railfreight Park

For the past seven years, we have been working with partners including the Homes and Communities Agency (formerly English Partnerships), European Regional Development Fund and Advantage West Midlands to develop a railfreight terminal at Donnington, North Telford.

Freight train

The project involves the reinstatement of approximately 3km of railway line from Wellington to Donnington, which was closed in 1991 and the track removed in 1993, and the construction of the freight handling and storage facilities at Donnington.

Following the completion of the infrastructure in December 2008 and the office buildings in May 2009, the terminal was officially opened on 10th June 2009. For more information please view the Telford International Railfreight Park website.

This project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Advantage West Midlands.
