a 15 year

Rail Terminal Capability and Services
Rail access
to the terminal is cleared for W8 loading gauge (from the west
only) and has the advantage that it can be accessed from the
Marches line linking South Wales and the North of England, avoiding
some of the congestion on the rail network on the West Coast
mainline and in the West Midlands conurbation. The terminal is an
open access facility, capable of handling intermodal traffic, bulk
freights and wagon load or palletised traffic. Initially the
terminal is expected to handle around 200,000 to 250,000 tonnes of
freight annually but will have the capacity to handle up to 750,000
tonnes per year. The site benefits from excellent links with the
M54 along A roads.
