Midnight Walk in Telford
Date: 26th May 2012
Location: Telford College of Arts and Technology (TCAT), Haybridge Road, Wellington, TF1 2NP
Cost: Registration is £10 until 2 April when it will increase to £15
A 10km ladies only walk starting at the stroke of midnight to help raise money for the Severn Hospice.
General Information
- The event follows a 10km circular route which follow paths away from residential housing where possible, along wide, well lit pavements
- There are checkpoints at the halfway mark for refreshments and comfort breaks
- Our fantastic team of marshals will line the route, positioned at every road crossing and junction to keep you safe
- Car parking is limited so please car share if you can
- At the request of the venue, no dogs will be allowed at the event (with the exception of guide dogs)
- Whistles, water pistols, klaxons and other items that might cause noise pollution are banned
- Participants must be aged 14 years and over to take part in the Midnight Walks. Anyone under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult

Olympic Torch Relay Telford Town Centre

We are delighted that the Olympic Flame and Torch relay will be coming to Telford and Wrekin on May 30 2012 and visiting Telford Town Centre.
Route Directions:
At 3.46pm the Torch Relay will start again at the Malinslee roundabout in Telford town centre going along Woodhouse Central and into Lawn Central before ending at the Hollinsgate Roundabout at 3.54pm.
Event Information:
The route around Telford Town Centre will be decorated by 2012 relay flags, community decorations, and banners made by the public will also feature in the parade around the ring road where nearby crowds and school children will be ready to greet the relay runners.
There will be street theatre and music played by bands around the external public spaces of the centre creating a carnival atmosphere to the event.
There will also be an opportunity for visitors on the day to make flags or pom-poms to wave as the torch passes by.

Olympic Torch Relay Ironbridge

We are delighted that the Olympic Flame and Torch relay will be coming to Telford and Wrekin on May 30 2012 and visiting Ironbridge where there will be a host of events happening in the afternoon.
Entertainment will start from 2pm and will include a number of river activities such as Ironbridge Rowing Club and The Greenwood Centre coracles paddling up and down the River. Ironbridge Scenic River Cruises will be providing pleasure boat trips for the public to enjoy.
The international Abraham Darby Academy Band will be livening up the streets of Ironbridge by playing on the town side of the Iron Bridge by the War Memorial and the Bicycle Hub will be giving tandem demonstrations along the Wharfage. There will also be street dance performances by the pupils from Phoenix school.
The torch leaves Ironbridge at 2.39pm and at this time everyone is invited to Enginuity where you can see CORE, a digital art exhibition by renowned international artist Kurt Hentschläger and see the Science Sport Life Exhibition. There is free entry to Enginuity from 4pm and it will be open until 5.30pm with refreshments and biscuits provided. For more information please visit the Ironbridge Gorge Museums website.
Parking is limited in the Gorge and it is expected to be extremely busy on this day with road closures limiting access. Anyone who wishes to come and see the torch and take part in the celebrations is encouraged to use the free park and ride at Stoney Hill at the top of Jiggers bank. There will be buses running from the site down to the Gorge every 12 minutes. Please allow adequate time for your journey and arrive as early as possible to avoid disappointment
