    Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival

    Date: 5th May 2012 - 13th May 2012

    Location: Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site

    Cost: Free

    Walks which are graded into four levels of difficulty ranging from a gentle two-hour family treasure hunt up to a strenuous, 15 mile circular hike over the Wrekin.

    All walks are free but with places limited to between 15 and 20 people, pre-booking is essential. To reserve a place or request a copy of the programme contact the Ironbridge Visitor Information Centre by email at tic@ironbridge.org.uk or call 01952 433424. Additional information is available on http://www.visitironbridge.co.uk/. Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome on most walks but please check before booking.

    Plant Fair at Weston Park

    Plant fair featuring highly respected specialist nurseries with a great range of perennials, shrubs, trees, rare species and old heritage varieties.

    Weston Park welcomes Plant Hunters' Fairs on Mayday Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday. Weston is an award winning stately home set in 1000 acres of "Capability" Brown parkland much of it wooded and planted with spring bulbs, bluebells, azaleas and rhododendrons. By the house there is an Italian Parterre and formal gardens. Plants will be at the heart of the event and we have a brilliant line up of nurseries with something, new, different and unusual for every plant lover. The fair will be held on the Stables Lawn in front of the house making a stunning backdrop to the day with the Stables Coffee Bar close on hand. For this special event, Weston Park is offering a really great value entrance price of just £2.50 (per person) for the fair, gardens and parkland. There is also a great adventure playground for children plus a selection of outdoor games in the courtyard. The miniature railway will also be running (additional charge).

    Midnight Walk in Telford

    Date: 26th May 2012

    Location: Telford College of Arts and Technology (TCAT), Haybridge Road, Wellington, TF1 2NP

    Cost: Registration is £10 until 2 April when it will increase to £15

    A 10km ladies only walk starting at the stroke of midnight to help raise money for the Severn Hospice.

     

    General Information

    • The event follows a 10km circular route which follow paths away from residential housing where possible, along wide, well lit pavements
    • There are checkpoints at the halfway mark for refreshments and comfort breaks
    • Our fantastic team of marshals will line the route, positioned at every road crossing and junction to keep you safe  
    • Car parking is limited so please car share if you can
    • At the request of the venue, no dogs will be allowed at the event (with the exception of guide dogs)
    • Whistles, water pistols, klaxons and other items that might cause noise pollution are banned
    • Participants must be aged 14 years and over to take part in the Midnight Walks. Anyone under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult
