The University of Wolverhampton has developed a new Research park (e-Innovation Centre) in which specialist incubator accommodation will be provided for new businesses setting up in the ICT sector in the same building as and giving direct contact with elements of the most relevant supporting agencies of the University. The modern hi-tech Centre offers fully furnished accommodation and business support to start up companies as well as limited office space for established businesses. Tenants have the use if computers and/or computer related technology as being core to the operation and growth of their business. The centre is the first research park in the region in which small and medium businesses, micro-businesses and spin off companies will be co-located in one building with applied research institutions.
In addition to 30 starter units and the Learning Lab drop-in centre, the building houses the Delta Research Institute, the DfES National ICT Research Centre and is linked with the Management Research Centre, the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and other relevant units of the University. It has stimulateed and supported the growth of a major new business sector of national standing within the Wolverhampton/Telford technology corridor.
The project is being implemented by the Delta Research Institute of Wolverhampton University on the University's Telford Campus at Priorslee, Telford.
The project is also part of the Wolverhampton/Telford technology corridor.
