The Project further adaptated and fitted-out the historic Listed Buildings of the Coalbrookdale Ironworks at the heart of the World Heritage Site. It is an extension of and complement to, the Interactive Technology Centre, Phase II 'The Works' (funded under the 1996/1999 ERDF Objective 2b Programme) and makes use of the assets created under that development.
The Project led by Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust and houses the National Centre for Design and Technology, integrating the repaired and regenerated historic Ironworks into the future development of Telford as a town of dynamic knowledge-based industries.
Engiunity Design and Technology Centre has boosted the local economy by attracting visitors over 50,000 since it opened in August 2002 and by creating 12 full-time and three part-time jobs.
Enginuity features exciting interactive working models and video presentations to show how technology and ideas are turned into useful things.
