The International Centre in Telford is currently the 8th largest exhibition and conference centre in the UK, hosting national trade and public exhibitions, sporting/events and product launches.
To ensure the sustainability of the venue and to exploit niche markets, a 3-phase plan was developed.
Phase 1 of the development was delivered which enhanced the size, variety and quantity of conference meeting rooms together with complimentary public circulation and catering facilities.
The development has provided the building with a clear, architectural identity synonymous with the size and importance of the clients and events the venue wishes to attract, and acts as a new gateway to the Telford Public Realm used by thousands of locals and visitors to Telford.
The project has contributed to the objectives of the programme by sustaining and increasing full-time, part-time and casual skill work, raising the profile of Telford as a destination and increasing the income of the local economy.
In addition with the development of Telford, Shropshire and the West Midlands as a whole, the enhancements to the Centre have contributed to the process of putting both the venue and Telford on the map, with a new high profile building, which is recognised within the industry and by thousands of visitors annually.
