Woodside Multi-Use Centre (Park Lane Centre)

The Woodside Multi-Use Centre known as the Park Lane Centre replaces an outdated community facility.

Construction of the Park Lane Centre was completed on 26th February 2006. Occupiers moved into the centre during March and the centre opened to residents at the beginning of April 2006.

A formal opening to mark the completion of the centre was on 6th October 2006.

The creative design of the building has enabled many facilities and services to be located under one roof. These include:

• Learning and training
• Skills development
• New nursery and childcare facilities including a family centre and crèche
• Health and social care
• Community finance initiatives
• A range of activities for the community and youth of the area
• A community cafe

Importantly, the centre provides a focus for the community and forms the heart of a regenerated local centre on the South Telford estate.

The commercial letting and rental of space within the centre, for both retail and office accommodation has supported businesses providing employment opportunities for local residents. Further employment opportunities have been created to service the Frogmeadow Cafe and child care centre. All staff posts have been filled by residents of Woodside.

For further information about what the Park Lane Centre can offer visit www.parklanecentre.co.uk or telephone 01952 683700.
