A two day training course to develop tutoring and training skills

Course Type: Advanced training for senior practitioners

Description: As Supervisors, managers and other senior practitioners you are required to carry out staff induction and professional development training within your settings. There is a need to cascade information and training to all the staff team on a whole variety of topics to ensure that everyone is up to date and aware of best practice.

These two sessions aim to give an introduction to presentation and training skills to help you in this important aspect of your job. These taster sessions will also be a good introduction for anyone who may wish to progress into tutor or assessor training at a later stage in their career.

Expected outcomes:

By the end of the sessions participants will be able to:-

• Prepare appropriate aims and objectives for training sessions
• Organise the training environment effectively
• Plan appropriate methods to enable effective learning to take place
• Start to understand about different learning styles and plan effectively for them
• Carry out appropriate assessment of learning
• Evaluate training sessions
• Gain confidence in the organisation and delivery of staff training.
