What is Clinical waste?
Clinical waste is any waste that poses a threat of infection to humans, and has been assessed by a medical professional that it requires special collection and disposal arrangements (heat treatment).
Can I arrange a collection for my clinical waste?
Telford & Wrekin Council has a duty to protect the Health and Safety of its staff as well as that of its Contractors. To do this we require information on the nature of the wastes to be collected that result from health care provided in the home
Parts of the form must be completed by a clinical professional (GP, Health visitor etc).
To arrange a new collection, please download and complete the form.
How soon will my collection start?
Once we have received the completed and signed form, an Officer will contact you to discuss the most suitable method of collection.
Items which are deemed as non hazardous can be placed inside your red top bin
What about needles/syringes/sharps?
These must not be placed inside the red top bin, you will need to speak to your healthcare provider to confirm where they can be taken
If you already receive a clinical collection and this has been missed, please use our online form to report this to us, we will request our contractors return.
Please ensure that all your clinical bag is presented for 7am on your scheduled day of collection and the bag is secured with the ties provided.
