Community history drop-ins and events

Community history

Community History drop-ins:
The drop-ins are for anyone who would like help and advice from our Community History Volunteers at Wellington Library on finding and using resources for local and/or family history and signposting you to other information or organisations.

Volunteers are available at the Community History Centre:

Day Time
Wednesday 2pm - 4.30pm
Friday 10.30am - 1pm

If you are not available at these times then send your enquiry to libraryenquiries@telford.gov.uk.

Who do you think you are? Ancestry taster sessions:

You don't have to be famous to trace your family tree.

Telford & Wrekin libraries subscribe to Ancestry Library Online and offer free introductory sessions on how to do basic searches. Details of upcoming courses are on our latest What’s On. Just book your place at the relevant library.

Local organisation events:

Wrekin Local Studies Forum
Local history groups in Telford run events throughout the year which can be found on the Wrekin Local Studies Forum calendar of events available in all libraries.

Shropshire Archives
Shropshire Archives and Friends of Shropshire Archives run a regular programme of events, including history days, annual lectures, open days and courses.
