Below is the list of volunteering opportunities available in Telford and Wrekin.

Bounce and Rhyme

Bounce and rhyme activities introduce young children and babies to the pleasure of books and rhymes. If you enjoy singing, having fun and consider yourself to be friendly and outgoing there are opportunities for you to become a bounce and rhyme volunteer. A task description is available.

Summer Reading Challenge Volunteer

Summer Reading Challenge Volunteers are aged between 12-19. They are required during July and August in Southwater, Madeley, Wellington and Newport Libraries to help up to 2000 children aged between 4 and 11 complete the Summer Reading Challenge. A task description is available.

Community History volunteer

To support people with research in local and/or family history and also the creation and promotion of resources, within the community history centre at Wellington Library. A task description is available.

Home Library Service volunteer

HLS volunteers deliver books and other library materials to people who are unable to visit the library because of age, disability or caring responsibilities. They talk to the customers about their reading preferences and liaise with library staff about book selection. A task description is available.

Following a good response to recent advertising we are not currently accepting new applications for this role.

IT volunteer

It volunteers support our BBC 'First Click' basic IT sessions that are run for three weeks at a different library each month. They get involved in a follow-up role in one-to-one sessions where BBC 'First Click' customers require a little more help or practise on a particular aspect They offer help with one-to-one sessions where other library customers may ask for more help and are referred to the IT Volunteer scheme.
