CultureFest 2012

About CultureFest 2012

The 2012 CultureFest event will take place on Saturday 21 July from 11am to 5pm.

The event will take place in the recently named Queen Elizabeth II Field, Telford Town Park Arena.

The CultureFest series of events first began in August 2008 when the event was created to celebrate the handover of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to London from Beijing.

Following the success of this first event, Culturefest events have since taken place in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and a further event following an established format is now being planned for 2012.

CultureFest is a free festival of music, dance, sport and the creative arts providing a showcase opportunity for talented local people and the chance for people of all ages to experience a wide range of leisure time activities. This year's event will be themed in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

It's a great day out in the park for people of all ages and encourages and supports people to 'do more, enjoy more, feel better'.

CultureFest events are organised by the Council and the fun run is co-ordinated by Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust.
