Schools in the Borough
Schools across the borough provide quality education. Some are among the most improved or have the highest results in the country. The area is also served by a number of independent schools.
The Department for Children, Schools and Families publishes performance data and OFSTED publishes school inspection reports. For information about individual pupil records please contact your school.
Pupil exclusions
A pupil can be excluded from school when there has been a serious breach of the school's behaviour policy and when allowing the pupil to remain in school would seriously harm the education or welfare of the pupil or others in the school. Only the headteacher or teacher in charge of a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) can exclude a pupil (or the person acting on their behalf if they are absent).
Special Educational Needs
Some children will experience learning difficulties at some stage during their school career and all schools in Telford & Wrekin provide help for children with special educational needs (SEN). The council undertakes to make a wide range of provision available for children who have special educational needs with a commitment to them being educated in mainstream schools wherever possible and appropriate.
