Future Schools Programme
Our vision
We want to raise achievement, aspirations and self-esteem by creating borough-wide, vibrant and inclusive Learning Communities.
Our future schools programme will bring together on school sites, a range of community facilities including children's centres, health, sports, arts and leisure services to benefit the whole community.
This is a top priority for the Council and is part of our Co-operative Council agenda that promises to work closely with residents, staff, partners and other organisations to deliver the best we can for the borough and local people.
Learning Communities will transform learning and leisure through new and refurbished school buildings and the latest Information Communication Technology (ICT).
Kier Moss is our preferred contractor for the first phase of the programme; which aims to rebuild or refurbish all of our secondary schools.
We have recently announced new proposals for the second part of the programme - these are now under consultation.
