Education Welfare

Education welfare officers work with all schools and parents to ensure that every child of statutory school age receives education.

The service is available to schools through a planned programme of visits over the academic year by a designated officer.

We give support to schools, parents and children on a range of issues including:

• school attendance
• pupil welfare
• exclusions
• the regulation of child employment and performance licences
