Telford & Wrekin Council is carrying out a major spring clean of the A442 Eastern Primary to improve the highway gateways to the town off this main strategic route.
Work will get under way on 18 April and will involve a number of temporary daytime lane closures.
The work will include grass cutting of verges, slipways and islands and will also include the central reservation between Brockton Roundabout and the Brockton Loop.
The council will also carry out a litter pick of all the grass and woodland areas and work will be carried out on some trees that have been damaged during the winter storms.
We hope that traffic delays will be kept to a minimum, as single lane closures will avoid peek traffic times and operate between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Dave Hanley, Service Delivery Manager for Highways & Neighbourhood Services, said: “We are carrying out this work in response to requests from businesses, Parishes and residents of the borough.
“It is all part of ensuring Telford is a destination of choice for being a great place to live, work and visit.
“Our aim is to maintain a clean and tidy environment along our key north to south trunk road and helps to encourage repeat business and leisure tourism.
We have created a timetable to demonstrate which parts of the A442 will be closed throughout the works.
