We want your views on plans to improve housing standards in privately rented homes.
While many landlords provide good, well-managed and well-maintained accommodation, there are examples in the borough where properties are poorly managed.
We’re looking at a five year scheme to help landlords and letting agents in Hadley and Leegomery, Malinslee and Hollinswood, Brookside and Sutton Hill and Woodside improve their properties and improve the quality of life for everyone living in and around these neighbourhoods.
You can see if your property is in a Selectively Licensed area with our postcode checker.
These areas have been chosen because evidence shows they have higher rates of housing disrepair, anti-social behaviour, littering and fly-tipping and a high turnover of tenants than other areas. We also receive more complaints from local residents in these neighbourhoods.
The new scheme would mean landlords and letting agents would have to be licensed. There would be a one-off cost for the licence. Find out more information by visiting Landlord Information.
We have also compiled a range of frequently asked questions that we will add to throughout the consultation.
Please complete the online survey and tell us what you think of the proposed scheme.
