Hollinswood Local Centre Regeneration
Design, features and the layout for the new shops Hollinswood Regeneration project have now been approved by Telford & Wrekin planning department following an Open Day with residents, public sector partners and businesses last autumn.
The plans to revamp Hollinswood are in response to a review of The Nedge carried out in 2011. It was noticed that the local parish viewed the centre of Hollinswood as unattractive, outdated, unsafe and subject to vandalism. It was also felt that the centre had become a focus for growing issues of crime and anti-social behaviour.
Work commenced in early 2015 with the demolition of the woodcutter public house which will be replaced by new shops and activity hubs. The local centre will also benefit from cleansing and lighting improvements to the underpass that serves as a gateway into the new Hollinswood Centre.
To see what the new shops and activity hubs will look like, view the plans.
Work is due to be completed by March 2016.
