Municipal waste management
Disposal of commercial waste
If you generate waste from a business it is classified as commercial waste and cannot be disposed of in your normal 'household waste' bin or deposited at a community recycling centre.
Find your nearest recycling centre.
Businesses must ensure that:
- waste is stored in the correct containers;
- any spillages are cleared away;
- waste is only disposed of by a licenced professional and;
- they sign a waste transfer note with the waste collecting company (which should be kept for 2 years).
