Telford & Wrekin Council is pleased to announce the opening of it’s new Business and Planning First Point’ confirming its commitment to being a business supporting, business winning council.
This new service in Wellington will open its doors on Monday 4 February and will offer a range of services to assist and support business growth and development across the borough.
The new First Point service will be based at the council offices (part of the Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre) and will give people who use business and planning services a dedicated place and point of contact for face to face enquiries.
Those wanting to visit First Point for Business and Planning will not require an appointment. The service will operate Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.15pm.
The opening of the First Point will help to signal the Council's intent to be more business focused and will provide a dedicated space for them to speak with the Council accessing business support.
Councillor Charles Smith, Cabinet member for Housing Regeneration and Economic Development, said: "From people wanting to access more information to those wanting to view planning applications, we are expecting a significant number of contacts to be made with local businesses through this new First Point service.
"As a co-operative council, we are working very hard to work event better with the private and voluntary sector to help to support growth and boost out local economy which is key to the future of the borough."
