Personalisation in Telford and Wrekin
Putting People First was an agreement that the government put forward in December 2007. The Coalition government agrees that we need to personalise services to give people more choice and control.
A number of changes have been made to the way we deliver services. We will continue to make sure our services are personalised and developed to allow people choice and control in their lives.
Any one of us, or one of our relatives or friends, will access social care services now or in the future. The changes we are making will shape social care and make improvements for all of us. We are tailoring services around the person, not making people fit into what services are available or deemed fit for them by somebody else. People want to be treated as individuals.
Our aim is to help people remain independent for as long as possible and give them control over any services they do choose, including funding from the Council for their care or support. As well as better information and easy access to the services that suit the individual and their personal care requirements.
Please see our informative newsletters for how Telford & Wrekin Council are taking this forward.
