Save Our Hospitals

Thank you for coming to share your views at a recent meeting on the future of our hospitals. Now it's time to make yourself heard as part of the consultation. Hurry! You only have until 14 March to share your views at NHS in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin website.

On Wednesday 16 February 2011 at 7pm a consultation meeting took place to discuss the most recent proposals for the PRH and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH). Over 300 people attended the consultation meeting that discussed the most recent proposals that would see both hospitals gain and lose services.

A "perfect" solution to the future of hospital services here is now almost impossible due to cuts in public spending.

But this latest consultation is our chance to save services and stop both local hospitals losing services. Each hospital would win and lose services under these proposals, but each will maintain full A&E cover, which the Council has always fought for.

We believe this is the best possible solution we could hope for.

If the consultation comes out against the proposals, we can expect to have changes imposed on us.

We could lose key hospital services to other more specialised hospitals outside this area with fewer services provided at both the PRH and RSH.
