Bus information and advice

Public transport within Telford and Wrekin includes buses, trains and coaches.

The Council has close working relationships with a number of transport providers in the area. 

Many people still believe that the Council runs the buses and controls the routes. But this hasn't been the case since 1986 when public bus services were privatised and routes deregulated. However the Council does fund many services which do not make a profit but are thought to be vital to connect people to the jobs and services. These are often evening and weekend services and those which serve rural communities.

The Council also provides bus stations, shelters, stops and information panels.

We work with bus operators to make services more accessible for everyone, including wheelchair users. This includes providing new low floor easy access vehicles and new kerbs that make it easier to get on and off the bus.
