Voting has now opened for Telford & Wrekin Council's ground-breaking
£££ for Projects scheme.
Residents will have the chance to vote for small local projects they want to see in their neighbourhood.
The council scheme will fund local projects across the borough and will see £4,500 spent in every borough ward in the coming year.
You can vote from Monday at www.telford.gov.uk/poundsforprojects, by calling 01952 382527 or in person at your local library, leisure centres and First Point which is based at Civic Offices.
Telford & Wrekin Council's £££ for Projects scheme will invest a total of £150,000 spent across the borough providing residents with a real opportunity to influence decisions on spending.
The scheme will help deliver small projects or tackle issues that are important to local communities which may not be addressed through the main Council budget.
Councillor Sean Kelly, cabinet member for Community-Focussed, Efficient Council, said: "£££ for Projects is a ground-breaking initiative and gives local people a real opportunity to influence decision making and spending in their area.
"While the council's main budget is tied-up in delivering mainstream services, the £££ for Projects scheme will ensure residents are given the flexibility to decide for themselves what projects they want to see happen in their area.
"It is for this reason we are encouraging residents of all ages and backgrounds to come forward with their own suggestions.
"This could range from a community celebration such as a street party or something as simple as planting new flowers and shrubs to brighten up the area, but at the heart of the initiative is local people know best. It puts our residents right at the heart of the decision-making process."
The Council is asking people to submit their suggestions for their local area from Monday and will also be involving ward councillors and town and parish councils in the scheme.
People will be able to make suggestions when voting opens on Monday on how the funds will be spent.
The public voting will be open until August 6 after which the Council will review all suggestions received and decide which projects will be supported.
