Arthog Outdoor Education Centre is a popular residential centre providing activities to young people and adults on behalf of Telford & Wrekin Council. This is a residential centre of 110+ beds across the estuary from Barmouth in Mid Wales, offering peak experiences in the mountains, rivers and coastal environments around the centre.

There is a new and exciting opportunity for the right person to join our Senior Management Team at Arthog OEC as our Assistant Centre Manager (Residential Experience), primarily overseeing the management of the residential experience for our visitors. The post-holder will oversee the administration of programme bookings, and ensure ongoing high standards for customer care and welfare are maintained. The post holder will also line manage our administration, domestic and catering teams.

Key aspects of the role will include;

  • A member of the Senior Management Team, deputising for the Centre Manager
  • Developing the value of the residential experience at the Centre
  • Oversee the booking process and logistics for schools and visitors wishing to attend
  • Liaising with schools and visitors with their pre-course information
  • Line manage the administration, domestic and catering teams
  • Developing staff training for your teams
  • Maintain good standards for health and safety of the residential experience
  • Liaise with suppliers and manage budgets effectively
  • Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Contribute to the Duty Manager roles

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of acting in a similar capacity in a residential setting, with good knowledge and understanding in the delivery of outdoor education. A range of qualifications for delivering outdoor activities is preferable.

Normal hours based on 37hr per week, and hours may vary during the main season, including some evening and weekend work.

Annual leave entitlement starts at 23days and 8 bank holidays plus 1 concessionary day.
