Consultations - Service and Financial Planning (Budget Plans) 2013/14 to 2015/16

Who can get involved? Residents of Telford and Wrekin Borough
Start date 4 January 2013
Closing date 10 February 2013
Reason for consultation Every year the Council agrees a budget plan. We need your help to make some of the toughest budget decisions this Council has ever faced. Next year we have a £10 million budget gap to close however we are focusing on what we can continue to do rather than just where we must cut services.

As a Co-operative Council, involving local people in our decisions and listening to their views is absolutely vital.
Overview We will be carrying out the budget consultation in a wide variety of ways, including:
• Using “Your Voice” to communicate the main budget proposals with the aim of informing every household in the Borough;
• Signposting opportunities for people to get involved and give their views on the budget strategy;
• An online budget survey on the budget page of the Council website;
• Facebook, Twitter, write in, ring in or text in your views and comments;
• A postal survey of the Community Panel;
• Meetings with a range of groups and organisations;
• An open public meeting;
• Ongoing press releases;
How to get involved? We are holding a special budget consultation public event on Wednesday 16 January at The Place @ Oakengates Theatre. You can hear about the budget proposals at first hand, give your views to cabinet members and have your say at a number of interactive stands on issues including which services we are protecting, Fair Deal for Telford and Wrekin and ‘the tough decisions ahead of us’.
