Reason for consultation Every year the Council agrees a budget plan. We need your help to make some of the toughest budget decisions this Council has ever faced. As Government grants are cut still further, by March 2018 we must cut another £30 million from the Council’s budget.
Overview We will be carrying out the budget consultation in a wide variety of ways, including:
• A series of Budget Roadshow events around the Borough
• Using “Your Voice” to communicate the main budget proposals with the aim of informing every household in the Borough
• Signposting opportunities for people to get involved and give their views on the budget strategy
• An online budget survey on the budget page of the Council website
• Facebook, Twitter, write in, ring in or text in your views and comments
• A postal survey of the Community Panel
• Meetings with a range of groups and organisations
• Ongoing press releases
