Land quality

We hold a significant amount of information on ground conditions within Telford and Wrekin, including information on land quality.

Whilst we do not carry out a regulatory function with respect to part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (England) Regulations 2005, we are able to provide information on land quality both to departments within the council and to the general public.

If you believe the issue of land quality affects a planning application or building regulation that you intend to submit, or if you have been asked to look into the issue as a condition of an application you have made, we can provide you with advice.

We have produced some land quality guidance notes for those asked or intending to carry out land quality site investigations.

We can also provide information and advice on land quality to land and house sellers and purchasers, estate agents and solicitors.

Any requests for information on land quality affecting planning application plots or house and land conveyancing are covered by the Environmental Information Regulations 2000. Under these regulations, the Council is allowed to charge for officer time taken to research and respond to enquiries.
