Learning Disabilities (LD) Programme

Pre-consultation Autumn 2020 and Consultation Spring 2021

The Learning Disability Partnership and all the member organisations, are determined to do everything we can to make sure that all people with learning disability in Telford and Wrekin live well and enjoy a full life, with as much independence as possible.

We are proud that there is good support for people in Telford and Wrekin, but we know there are things that could be better. We want to make these improvements over the next four years. We have limited resources and we cannot do everything at once but the Learning Disability Strategy (2021 - 2025) sets out the most important things and we will focus on these.

We have heard from adults with learning disabilities, families, carers and staff who care for or work with them.  The feedback from the pre-consultation in Autumn 2020 and the consultation in Spring 2021 has helped us to finalise the Strategy and will help us enable people with learning disabilities to live well in Telford and Wrekin.

The Consultation Summary, recommendations for changes to the Strategy and the Strategy Action Plan were presented to the Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet in September 2021 for sign off. Following this it is now owned and monitored by the Telford and Wrekin Learning Disability Partnership.

Sign up to the Council’s News service for more information about the consultation and other aspects of Adult Social Care and select the Adult Social Care preference.
