Additional Restriction Grant - update 22 April 2021

On 3 March 2021 it was announced that councils would be provided with additional funding from 1 April 2021, once their existing allocation had been spent in full. We are in the process of making final payments of the existing funding. 

We are currently reviewing the Government guidance and we will update this page in due course regarding how any additional funding will be spent.


Restart Grants – update 6 April 2021

On the 3 March 2021 the Chancellor announced further support for businesses affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

The one-off Restart Grants will provide support up to:

  • £6,000 for non-essential retail businesses
  • £18,000 for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses.

We have already identified the businesses which will qualify for this grant. The Government have asked that we collect further information before we make an award. We will be emailing all qualifying businesses regarding this on the 7 April 2021.

National restrictions – update 23 February 2021

A further grant payment will be made to businesses who have been forced to close due to Government restrictions and qualify for the Local Restrictions Support Grant Closed Addendum scheme. There is no need to re-apply as the award will be made automatically and you will be notified of the award by email. The payment will be for the period 16 February 2021 – 31 March 2021 as follows:

  • £2,096 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
  • £3,143 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
  • £4,714 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000.

Applications must be received by 31 May 2021.
