Fairtrade in Telford and Wrekin

Fairtrade logo

As a Co-operative Council, we are committed to doing as much as we can to support and promote Fairtrade across the borough.  The Council took a lead role in setting up the Telford & Wrekin Fairtrade Alliance which was officially launched in February 2013 at an event at Harper Adams University.

Telford and Wrekin Fairtrade Alliance

Telford and Wrekin Fairtrade Alliance comprises representatives from a range of:

  • local schools
  • businesses
  • churches
  • retail organisations and traders
  • the Council
  • Parish Councils

who work together to support and promote the Fairtrade campaign across Telford & Wrekin. The overriding aim of the Alliance when it was first established was to work towards achieving Fairtrade Status for the Borough. This aim was achieved in November 2015 when the Fairtrade Foundation awarded Fairtrade Borough status.

If you or your organisation is interested in joining the Alliance please contact us. New members are always welcome. Please contact David Nuttall at dnuttall@harper-adams.ac.uk.
