The Youth Health Champion (YHC) scheme is for young people aged 13 to 18 who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of themselves, their friends/family and community.
Your role as a YHC volunteer is to encourage others to enjoy a healthier lifestyle and raise awareness of positive health and wellbeing. You will help promote and signpost individuals to services, activities and groups that would be helpful to their physical and emotional health. Download the Youth Health Champion volunteer role description.
You can be an active member of your school/community by supporting health and wellbeing events or delivering your own/group health and wellbeing projects.
You don’t have to be a health and wellbeing expert, ideally you will have an interest and enthusiasm to make health changes to your own lifestyles and the people around you.
YHC’s will be fully trained and supported in their role. Download the Youth Health Champion (YHC) role description.
Time commitment is flexible, but on average one hour a week would be helpful to the role. Download the Youth Health Champion (YHC) role description.
