Water safety

We want everyone to be safe when visiting our sites that have water features within them.

We work closely with the Royal Life Saving Society on managing water safety on our sites and further details on advice can be found on the RLSS website.

When visiting this site, here are a few tips to keep safe around the water:

keep out of the water at all times
never allow children to play near the water unless accompanied by an adult
don't run near the water, you may trip and fall in
learn how to help in an emergency; if you see someone in trouble in the water never jump in yourself. Stay calm and phone for help. Some sites across the borough have water safety sites and equipment, please only use the equipment when required.

From Newport: Along the A442 towards Whitchurch. Take the first left into Peregrine Way after the Leegomery island.
From South Telford: Along the A5223 towards Whitchurch. After the Princess Royal Hospital head towards the Shawbirch island turn right onto the A442. Take the third right into Peregrine Way.
From Shrewsbury: Along the M54 to junction 6. Follow the A5223 for Whitchurch. After the Princess Royal Hospital head towards the Shawbirch island turn right onto the A442. Take the third right into Peregrine Way.
From Whitchurch: At the Shawbirch island turn left onto the A442. Take the third right into Peregrine Way.
By Bus: From Wellington take the Arriva Midlands North 44 for Leegomery to the Princess Royal Hospital. This is the most frequent service. Other services include the 25, 55 and 822. You arrive at the main entrance to the hospital. The woods are behind the hospital.
