Changes to Council services from 5 November 2020

From Wednesday 2 December 2020, following the lifting of national restrictions, Telford and Wrekin will be placed in Tier 2 – high alert.

Visit the GOV.UK website for information about Tier 2

Here is a reminder of what you need to know about Tier 2:

  • you must not socialise indoors with anybody outside your household unless they are part of your support bubble
  • you can socialise in a group outside but it must not be in a group of more than 6, this includes in a private garden or a public space and you must maintain social distancing at all times
  • work from home if possible
  • reduce the number of non essential journeys made.

The following services will re-open, from Wednesday 2 December 2020 (until then they remain closed):

Oakengates Theatre will remain closed

Work is currently underway to support the opening of a new coronavirus testing facility in the borough, at The Place, Oakengates.

This is part of the government’s continuous drive to increase testing availability and help trace cases locally as early as possible.

More details will be provided in the coming weeks.

As a result of this, the Oakengates Library and the Coffee Aroma shop located at The Place won’t be able to re-open from the 2 December.

We are currently working closely with both these facilities for alternative options to support with their activities.
