Re-opening of local businesses

Telford & Wrekin Council has been working to deliver a range of measures to enable shops and businesses within the borough’s district and neighbourhood centres to re-open in a way that enables people to stay safe.

The Council, working together with town and parish council partners and other interested parties have held a series of walkabouts at major district centres to identify possible issues and pinch points.

Measures have been put in place in some local areas to help with social distancing, find out what changes have been made in specific areas below:

Social distancing signage can also be seen in:

  • Brookside Local Centre
  • Hadley Local Centre
  • Hollinswood Local Centre
  • Leegomery Local Centre
  • Malinslee Local Centre
  • The Parade , Wrekin Drive, Donnington
  • Dawley Road shops/ Kingsland
  • Randlay Local Centre
  • Sutton Hill Local Centre.

Businesses that have reopened in line with government guidance are required to determine how many customers can effectively enter their premises. In addition, they need to be able to manage any outside queue that may form.

Officers are routinely monitoring all the major district centres to ensure businesses are complying with the regulations. If you have any concerns about a particular establishment, please email coronavirus@telford.gov.uk.
