Major infrastructure improvements in Ironbridge

There are major infrastructure improvement works planned across the gorge during the autumn/winter months which will mean some roads will be closed and diversions in place. Businesses will remain open as usual throughout the works and access maintained. More details will be provided on these in the coming weeks.

These are essential works that need to be carried out and appreciate this will call some disruption but the council has worked hard to combine projects and ensure seven day working where possible to minimise this. 

Wharfage, Tontine Hill, High Street - 18 January 2021  - 7 February 2021

Road closure: access to frontages maintained.
Work details:  carriageway resurfacing.
Organisation:  Telford and Wrekin Council

Madeley Road - 8 February 2021 - 30 April 2021

Road closure: from its junction with High Street roundabout and its junction with Orchard Lane.
Work details: electricity network upgrade. Sewer repair, barrier repairs, hedge maintenance and footway slurry sealing
Organisation: Western Power Distribution, Severn Trent Water and Telford and Wrekin Council
