- Find my Past
Allows searching of birth, marriage and death records; census records; parish records; travel and migration records; some military records and more genealogical resources. Most of the Shropshire Parish registers and some Non-conformist registers up to 1900 can now be searched on library computers.

This ongoing project aims to give free online access to baptisms, marriages and burial records that have been transcribed from parish and non-conformist registers of the UK.
- General Register Office of England and Wales
Your local Telford & Wrekin Register Office, based in the Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre, hold all original records of life events including Births Deaths and Marriages from 1837 that occurred within the Borough. If you would like a certified copy of the original record using a scanned image of the original registration including signatures, this can be requested for the fee of £10.00.
The General Register Office holds the national archive of all births, marriages and deaths dating back to 1837. You can order birth, marriage, civil partnership, death, adoption and commemorative certificates online via the government's own official website.

A pay for site that contains amongst other things - birth, marriage and death indexes and census records for England and Wales.
- National Archives
The National Archives are the official archives for the United Kingdom. They hold records that were previously available through the Public Records Office and the Family Records Centre and are now the access point for UK central government records.
- National Archives of Ireland
Information on what’s available online for Irish sources.
- Online Parish Clerks sites
Online-Parish-Clerks (OPCs) are volunteers who collect and transcribe records for a chosen specific parish. Each OPC decides what data to collect, how it will be organized and distributed or displayed.
- Roots Ireland
Contains unique Irish family history records including birth, death, marriage and gravestone records. Registration needed with some free searching or credit voucher purchasing necessary.
The official Scottish genealogy resource with almost 90 million records. Free surname search on the Homepage with ‘pay as you go’ options.
- Shropshire Archives
Archives and local studies for the historic county of Shropshire including Telford and Wrekin. They preserve and make accessible documents, books, maps, photographs, plans and drawings relating to past and present.
