Announce the name of the new swimming pool in Dawley

Following public consultations and our desire to continue to invest in our leisure services across the borough the proposed new swimming pool in the Dawley area will be developed to mark the 150th anniversary in 2025 of Captain Matthew Webb’s legendary swim across the English channel.

And as a mark of our pride in our local hero we will be naming the swimming pool facility the Captain Matthew Webb Swimming Pool.
