We want to achieve a balance between the need to encourage
sustainable development while at the same time enhancing the
quality of our attractive countryside, historic buildings and
wildlife areas.
We provide a number of services dedicated to environmental
protection, including waste collection and disposal and the
conservation of our built and natural environment.
We aim to promote and deliver high quality development that
provides well designed places to live and work with the services
and facilities that people need. Our environmental and planning
services work to safeguard our environment from the threats of poor
air quality, noise, heavy traffic, and inappropriate development,
as well as providing a co-ordinated framework for individual
development decisions to create new homes and employment.
