International Nurses Day

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth.

The International Council of Nurses commemorates this important day each year with the production and distribution of the International Nurses' Day (IND) Kit. The IND kit 2008, contains educational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere.

Abandoned Shopping and Luggage Trolleys Consultation
In response to increasing complaints,Telford & Wrekin Council is asking for the views of local residents, groups and businesses on adopting powers for the removal, storage, charging and disposal of abandoned shopping and luggage trolleys. The consultation lasts for 8 weeks from 28 April. The consultation is open to anyone.

Telford Book Awards for Children
The first ever Telford Book Awards for Children launches on Thursday 6th March to coincide with World Book Day. Children will be able to borrow the short listed books from Telford and Wrekin libraries and log on to Learning Innovation Centre until Saturday 31 May 2008 to cast their votes.
