If your child was born between 1 September 2003 – 31 August 2004 you must apply for a Secondary School place for the academic year 2015/2016.
Grammar school applications
If you are looking to apply for a grammar school place at either Adams' Grammar School or Newport Girls' High School your child will need to sit an entrance test first. The results of this test will advise if your child is of an appropriate level for a grammar school place.
The application procedure for pupils wishing to be considered for a place at a grammar school for September begins in the Spring term.

Applying for a school place
You can apply online or by completing a Local Authority (LA) application form, which you should receive from your child's school. The closing date for applications was 31 October 2014 (apart from Thomas Telford School).
If you have not applied for a secondary school place for September 2015 please contact the School Admissions Team.
Allocation letters will be posted out to on-time applicants on Friday 27 February 2015. Those who have applied online will also receive an email on Monday 2 March 2015 detailing the outcome.
Please note we are not able to discuss the outcome of applications over the phone before 2 March 2015.
Thomas Telford School applications
Thomas Telford School, a City Technology College, is part of the Government's specialist school initiative and the Rules of Admission differ from those of LA schools.
Application forms can be downloaded from the Thomas Telford School website, please do not use the LA application form.
Applications must be completed and returned to the school by 22 September 2014. No applications can be accepted after this date.
