The Telford & Wrekin Local Plan 2011 - 2031 was submitted on 30 June 2016 to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination, in accordance with Section 22 of The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
A copy of the Local Plan Submission Notification Letter sent to stakeholders confirming submission is available to view. This version of the plan was prepared taking into account the results of the previous consultation on the draft document undertaken between 1 February 2016 and 15 March 2016. Planning Inspector Mr Michael J Hetherington BSc (Hons) MA MRTPI MCIEEM has been appointed to establish whether the Local Plan is 'sound', taking into account the representations made earlier this year, as well as national policy.
To help with the examination process, the Council has appointed an independent Programme Officer.

The last hearing session of the Examination Programme ended at 6pm on Friday 10 February 2017.
The Councils responses to the questions and actions (Document K24) raised during the EIP are now available. The draft modification schedule will follow shortly.
The Inspector is currently gathering additional information requested during the hearing sessions. He will issue his report once he is satisfied that all Representations and other evidence has been taken into account, and once he has gathered all the information he requires to form reasoned conclusions on any issues of soundness.
