Bounce and Rhyme
Bounce and rhyme activities introduce young children and babies to the pleasure of books and rhymes. If you enjoy singing, having fun and consider yourself to be friendly and outgoing there are opportunities for you to become a bounce and rhyme volunteer.
Due to the nature of this work, volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
Home Library Service Volunteer
HLS volunteers deliver books and other library materials to people who are unable to visit the library because of age, disability or caring responsibilities. They talk to the customers about their reading preferences and liaise with library staff about book selection.
Due to the nature of delivering books to people's homes, volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
Volunteers are currently needed to deliver in the following areas:
Family Code Club Volunteer
Family Code Club volunteers deliver one hour computer coding sessions with children and families. You will help children and their parent discover the world of computer coding using resources such as Scratch, Rasberry Pi and Microbits.
Volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
IT volunteers support our 'First Click' basic IT sessions that are run for two weeks at a different library each month. They get involved in a follow-up role in one-to-one sessions where BBC 'First Click' customers require a little more help or practise on a particular aspect. They offer help with one-to-one sessions where other library customers may ask for more help and are referred to the IT Volunteer scheme. They may also support tailored one-off sessions.
Due to the one-to-one nature of this work, volunteers must be over 18 years of age.

Reading Hack Volunteer
Reading Hack volunteers are young people aged 12 - 19 who are interested in volunteering, reading and working with others.
We meet once a month on the fourth Thursday of the month at Wellington Library. When you are part of this group you can take part in different volunteering opportunities at the following libraries:
