Armed Forces Community Cafes
Armed Forces Community Cafes aim to fill the void caused by isolation and detachment after Service whilst providing a platform for social interaction and comradery. They also provide an opportunity to offer an early intervention service to those who are experiencing poor emotional and mental health. The Cafes are run by Telford Mind who provide trained staff who are able to signpost veterans to Service, and non-Service, Charities and Groups where necessary. The Cafes are funded by Telford & Wrekin Council and supported by our Town and Parish Councils.
The Cafes are available on a drop-in basis so there is no need to book:
- Donnington: every first Wednesday of the month and every third Wednesday from the 19th February 2025, from 4pm to 6pm, at Turreff Hall, Turreff Avenue, Donnington, TF2 8HG.
- Dawley: every second and fourth Monday of the month, 2pm to 4pm, at Dawley House, 22 Burton Street, Dawley, TF4 2ES.
Both sites are wheelchair accessible and have parking close by.

Armed Forces Drop-In Session - Stirchley

The sessions, held on the first Thursday of each month from 10am to 12.30pm, at the Sambrook Centre, Grange Avenue, Stirchley, TF3 1FL, enable people to get information and guidance on a wide range of matters and individuals can also be signposted to other agencies that can help.
Models for Heroes Group
Models for Heroes (M4H) is the first charitable organisation in the UK to support the use of model making hobbies within former and current Armed Forces and Emergency Service Personnel in the United Kingdom. Research into the use of crafts as an intervention activity report an increased level of happiness and social inclusion. The physical dexterity required to build the model kits challenges and promotes development of fine motor skill.
All kits are provided free of charge from M4H and there is no cost at all to attend. Models kits can be worked on outside of the group and taken home when completed - we also welcome donations of unstarted model kits.
Our friendly M4H Group meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, at Leegomery Community Centre, Leegate Avenue, TF1 6NA and the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at St. Georges * Priorlsee Parish Centre, Grove Street, St. Georges, TF2 9LJ. The sessions are free to attend and there is no cost for the kits which are provided by Models for Heroes.
