Simon Haydon commenced his role as one of the three Neighbourhood Coordinators (NHC) in
May of 2021. He has previously worked as a Probation Officer, manager in local authority substance misuse teams and in Public Health before moving into roles in the private sector. He then returned to Telford & Wrekin Council to commence his current role.
Simon is responsible for the Neighbourhood Actions plans (NAP’s) for the areas of Donnington, Dawley and Aqueduct, Malinslee and Dawley Bank and Ketley and Overdale.
The Safer and Stronger programme aims to help make areas safer, cleaner and better places to live. Simon stated that he feels the NHC role is a real opportunity to engage and support the assets that are in each of the communities that he works in, whether those be individuals, groups or places. Facilitating connections and promoting co-production to improve both how safe residents feel as well as maximising opportunities to help improve both the physical and mental health of all residents.
