Pride in Place neighbourhood boards and decision making

Community led neighbourhood boards

Each Pride in Place area has a Neighbourhood Board, which helps guide priorities and decisions about funding and activity.

How the boards work

  • boards are resident led, with at least 51% made up of people who live or work locally
  • members include residents, community leaders, local groups, faith representatives and people with strong local connections
  • local sub groups in Woodside, Sutton Hill and Brookside feed directly into decision making.

The boards ensure that decisions reflect lived experience, local knowledge and community priorities.

Role of the Council...

Telford & Wrekin Council acts as the accountable body, ensuring public funding is managed fairly, transparently and in line with government requirements.

Independent Chair, independent leadership...

Each neighbourhood board is supported by an independent chair, who helps ensure decision making is fair, balanced and community focused.

Responsibilities of the chair:

  • champion the neighbourhood and its residents
  • support resident led discussions and decisions
  • encourage open, inclusive engagement across the community.

South Telford Independent Chair:

Reverend Jo Farnworth

Transparency and updates...

Open and transparent by design.

Pride in Place is committed to openness and clear communication.

As governance arrangements develop:

  • updates will be shared regularly in plain language
  • decisions, progress and next steps will be published openly
  • information will be available through council, community and partner channels.

Transparency is a core part of how the programme operates.
