Written confirmation whether planning permission is necessary can be provided by the Council. This is not the same as a ‘Lawful Development Certificate’, which will undertake a formal process, but could be used as an informal alternative.

An assessment of the proposed works against the General Permitted Development Order and a written letter confirming whether planning permission is required. We aim to respond to these within 5 working days. If planning permission is required we will set out the parameters for development.
